November 21st  2pm: Juvenile Arthritis Support Meeting: Come meet other parents and kids/teens with JRA. Let’s talk about what to do after the diagnosis, how to make life a little bit easier, and natural approaches to easing pain. Meet at the Old Brogue/Katie’s Coffeehouse at 2pm. The restaurant is divided into two sections and the coffeehouse is through the door on the right side of the porch. I will have a red mug!

November 1st at 4pm: Monthly Stretch and Relaxation Class:$5 The class will start with some simple warm ups while standing up and then we will move to the floor and do some gentle stretches and easy exercises. We will end with a 5 minute meditation. It will last about 30 minutes. All the exercises and stretches will be very easy. If anyone has any difficulty moving from standing to sitting, I have some techniques to help with this problem, as I’ve experienced it myself. Also, this will be a very private and comfortable setting. No judging and no pressure, just relax and do what you can.

November 12th at 9pm: Dr. Bianca Garilli and the Causes of Rheumatoid Arthritis: This is a tele-seminar, meaning anyone can call in from around the country and listen to her presentation. She contacted me personally to offer this seminar to our group! We will call in from my house, but you will most likely also be able to call in from your own home once I get the number, email me if you would like to do this. Here is what she told me about it:

I will be offering this free teleseminar to my patients and anyone else who would like to listen in from around the country.  It will take place on Thursday November 12th at 6pm PST and will last one hour.  I will email the power point to participants once they sign up and they can listen via their phone (there will be a number to call in) or via their internet connection.
The basis of the teleseminar is to introduce people to causes of rheumatoid arthritis in addition to what they can do to reduce their symptoms from a natural perspective including:  nutritional changes, herbs and stress reduction.
During the last 5 min. I’ll take questions via the internet and then will give them a link to a 4-hour teleseminar that I will be doing on December 5th (cost $149) which will go into much more detail and further information on RA treatments including much more on nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, stress reduction…etc.
This isn’t a sales seminar to promote products…I believe in the bodies ability to heal if it’s given the proper foundation – food, water, stress reduction, re-balancing with herbs, homeopathy and hydrotherapy – and I really want to help people to heal and go on to pursue their own passions.

  1. Mary Babcock Says:

I am a physical medicine and pain management physician recently out of the military and now in private practice in the area. I live in Great Falls and would love to connect and have active dialogue with RA patients in the community.

While on teaching faculty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, I worked closely with the Rheumatology fellows with diagnosis and management to help improve function and optimal health with patients.

Currently, I work with a multidisciplinary staff that takes a holistic approach to chronic illness management incorporating medical care, diet, physical therapy, osteopathic manipulation and acupuncture, psychotherapy into the care of a patient.

Feel free to contact me via email or cell (571-426-0189)

I am sorry I missed the 9/12/09 event. Look forward to further communications.

    Be Well,
    Mary Babcock

  2. Lou Anaya Says:

So glad I found this site! I have been looking for a practice that incorporates all of the above.
Where is the practice located at? how to make appointment?
I am due to start biologic treatments on November 23rd and I am so scared of these drugs. I would like to incorporate another form of holistic treatment.
Please let me know how to make an appointment with your practice.
